MONDIAL ASSISTANCE COVERAGE GUARANTEE IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION?
Refund of cancellation costs contractually due to the organiser if you are obliged to cancel your journey before departure and if cancellation is justified by: • Serious illness, serious physical accident and consequences, after effects, complications or aggravation of illness or accident established before your holiday booking, or death of: a) yourself, your legal or common partner, your ascendants or descendants b) your brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, fathers-in-law, mothers-in-law. It is your responsibility to establish the reality of the situation which entitles you to our services. We thus reserve the right to refuse your request, on consultation with our doctors, if the information provided cannot prove the substance of the facts • Serious damage to property resulting from a burglary, a fire, water damage or a climate event, requiring your presence at that location on your scheduled day of departure to implement protective measures
and administrative actions and which affect over 50% of: a) your main or secondary residence. • Redundancy of yourself or your spouse, provided that the procedure had not been started by the day on which you took out this policy • Serious damage to your vehicle occurring within the 48 hours prior to your departure, provided that it can no longer be used to take you to your final holiday location • Obtaining employment as a salaried employee or paid training, taking effect
before or during the dates planned for your trip, while you were registered for unemployment benefit and provided that it does not involve a contract extension or renewal or an assignment provided by a temporary work company • Your employer changing the dates of your paid holidays. • Your unforeseen, compulsory summons to appear in court, as a witness or for jury service that cannot be postponed. • Being called for an organ transplant during your holiday. • Your notification of the adoption of a child during the period of the trip • Cancellation, for one of the events mentioned above of one or more people booked at the same time as you and insured under this policy if, because of this withdrawal, you had to travel alone. • Lack of or excess snow which causes the closure of more than 2/3 of ski lifts.
WHAT DOES MONDIAL ASSISTANCE GUARANTEE IN THE EVENT OF INTERRUPTION TO NORMAL SERVICE:
• In the event of not being able to get to the resort: pro rata temporis reimbursement of one day of the amount of the package and equipment. • In the event of ski lifts (more than 2/3) being closed: pro rata temporis reimbursement of the number of days with no skiing, maximum 70% of the total amount of the package and equipment, reimbursement of ski lessons in the event of a skiing accident: reimbursement of ski lift pass (pro rata temporis, limited to 250 euro) and equipment (pro rata temporis, limited to 200 euro).
WHAT CAUSES ARE EXCLUDED BY THE MONDIAL ASSISTANCE COVER?
1) The exclusions common to all covers.
• Civil war or overseas conflict, riots, social unrest, strikes, terrorist attacks, taking of hostages, handling of arms.
However, our cover applies in the case of such events occurring while abroad, during the 14 days which follow the start of these events • your voluntary participation in bets, crimes or fights, except in a case of legitimate defence • any effects of a nuclear origin or caused by any source of ionising radiation • your intentional acts and wilful misconduct, including suicide and attempted suicide • your consumption of alcohol, drugs or any narcotic substance listed in the French Public Health Code, not medically prescribed
• Your participation in any sport, professionally or under contract
with remuneration • Insurance claims occurring outside the countries covered, specified in the special terms and conditions, or outside the period of validity of this policy • Insurance claims occurring during services that were not organised by the policyholder • Events occurring between the date of booking your trip and the date of taking out this policy, as well as their consequences. 2) Are excluded from ‘assistance’ cover
• All costs incurred without prior agreement from our assistance service
• Diagnosed and/or treated pre-existing illnesses, and/or having been the subject of
hospitalisation in the 6 months preceding the request for assistance, except for marked, unforeseen complications • Benign conditions or lesions that can be treated at the location • Convalescence and unstable conditions in the process of being treated • Pregnancy and any related complications after the sixth month, voluntary termination of pregnancy, childbirth, in vitro fertilisation and its consequences • Trips taken with a view to diagnosis and/or treatment • Sporting competitions and preparatory training • Catering fees, costs not expressly mentioned as giving entitlement to reimbursement, as well as all expenses for which you cannot produce proof • The following do not count as medical costs: thermal therapy fees, physiotherapy fees, dental fees other than emergency treatment, preventive medicine fees, fees incurred in the country where you reside or of which you are a citizen, and in France, costs incurred by an unstable illness or accident at the time of departure, treatment not resulting from a medical emergency, costs incurred with a view to artificial insemination or any treatment for sterility, any treatment whose therapeutic nature is not recognised by French legislation. 3) Exclusions to the "bodily accidents" cover
• The practice (as an amateur, at any level), of mechanical sports (involving a car, motorbike, any motor vehicles) or air sports, the use of motorbikes 125cm³ and over • The practice of rock climbing, mountain climbing, caving, competitive sledding, scuba diving with or without autonomous apparatus, parachuting, hang gliding, paragliding • A cardiac event • Known paralysis, deafness, blindness or epilepsy which you may suffer from, as well as any medical event whose diagnosis, symptoms or cause are of a mental, psychological or psychiatric nature • An activity undertaken as part of your profession, • An activity not provided by "the policyholder" • The benefit of the cover, when the latter has been recognised as being guilty and condemned for having voluntarily caused you to lose your life. 4) Are excluded from ‘early termination of holiday’ cover
• Termination of a holiday without prior agreement with the Mondial Assistance insurance department • Natural disasters and their consequences shall comply with the procedure referred to by the law 82.600 dated 13th July 1982. 5) Exclusions under the "accidental ski breakage" and "reimbursement of ski lessons" covers All costs incurred without the agreement of Mondial Assistance assistance service.
WHAT CLAIMS ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE MONDIAL ASSISTANCE COVER IN THE EVENT
OF CANCELLATION?
• Illnesses or accidents which were first observed or were subject to a treatment, relapse, aggravation or hospitalisation between the date of booking your trip and the date of taking out this policy • Pregnancy, except for marked and unforeseen complications, voluntary termination of pregnancy, childbirth, in vitro fertilisation and its consequences, • Forgetting to get vaccinated, • Any medical event whose diagnosis, symptoms or cause are of a mental, psychological or psychiatric nature and which has not led to hospitalisation for 5 consecutive days subsequent to taking out this policy, • Accidents resulting from the practice, as an amateur and at all levels, of mechanical sports (involving a car, motorbike, any motor vehicles) or air sports • Epidemics, pollution, natural disasters which are the subject of the procedure intended by the law 82.600 of 13 July 1982 and their consequences • The consequences of penal procedures you are subject to.
